Carpenter - New Construction
Position Summary
Northstar Systembuilt is seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter to construct, install, and finish components in new residential and commercial construction projects. The Carpenter will work from blueprints and specifications to build quality structures while maintaining production schedules, safety standards, and workmanship expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform framing, installation, and finishing work for new construction projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, and other building materials.
- Construct floors, walls, roofs, ceilings, and other structural components.
- Install doors, windows, trim, cabinets, siding, and other finish materials.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verify dimensions and ensure structures are built according to plans and company quality standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Identify and resolve construction issues while maintaining productivity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with material handling, loading, unloading, and job site preparation as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous carpentry, construction, or framing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, and building practices.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic..
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated surfaces.
- Experience with residential, commercial, modular, or manufactured building construction.
- Knowledge of building codes and construction safety standards.
- Finish carpentry and trim installation experience.
- Construction trade certifications or apprenticeship experience.
